  • Question: Have you tried yoga apps? There is a great free app for yoga on iTunes that you can do in the comfort of you own home. It allows you to build your own "flows" (I think that's what they're called) and has a database of different poses that you can look up and try. There is also a ready-made program for beginners. I'm testing it out tonight if you would like me to let you know how it goes when I finish. Much less stressful than class I imagine. :) - becoming-yoga
  • Answer:

No, I haven’t! I will look it up! I usually love class, but I’ve been going to this new place that just isn’t doing it for me. It’s very impersonal and the teachers never offer modifications or anything… I’ll have to go back to my old studio. And do apps! Thanks =)

I have an unlimited week at this hot yoga place, so I’ve been going every day…. It’s more of a power yoga and it’s bordering on bikram… I’m not the biggest fan of it but I’m gonna finish my week. Today the teacher tried to push me into a pose that I couldn’t do. I have really tight hamstrings, so I do a lot of modified poses…. I’m pretty sure that you’re never supposed to push someone into a pose they’re not ready for. It hurt! Everybody is build differently, and capable of different things…. she didn’t seem to get that. Also, whenever I tried to take a rest in child’s pose, the teacher was like “nope! stay in the pose!”. Well I’m sorry, but I do have tendonitis and I can’t stay in plank for 50 breaths or it’ll be bad for my wrist…and I’m the only person who would know that. It’s such a corporate cookie cutter yoga…where everyone’s expected to do the exact same thing, regardless of fitness levels, flexibility, injuries, body types, etc. And then people who cant do something feel bad about it…. now I feel more stressed out thanks to that class, and I go to yoga to relieve stress.

So excited to try it tonight!
Also… just checked out who’s teaching it…… mmmmmmm that’s a plus.

“Stacy and Clinton from What Not To Wear would agree with me.”
That’s because Stacy and Clinton are douchebags who throw away peoples clothes and say that they have to dress like everyone else.

My mother offers to iron whatever i’m wearing. Code for “that looks bad”. I’m going to a friends house to sit on the couch and watch tv, and she insists that I wear a skirt that is nicely ironed. However, dog hair on every item of clothing I own is fine. I don’t understand. All I know is that people today don’t fucking care if I look good… except my mother.

Especially if you came to be that way by putting other people down. You are no better than me, and you’re only proving that by trying to be. I’ll admit, at times, I have low self esteem. That doesn’t give you the right to feed off of it. Go. Fuck. Yourself. You. Emotional. Predator.

My girlfriend and I are clients.
And I am really, truly grateful for the amazing, extremely affordable health care.  If you claim to be (or think you are) a Christian, you should take the time to see what really goes on in their offices.
It is not what you think.
